Recieved this info, over the weekend.
Melling oil pumps, M66C From PEP Boys. Special order from the warehouse. Normal price is $99.84. Special price is $2.40
I have a commercial account with PEP BOYS, and confirmed this pricing, and ordered 10 of them. Must be ordered through the retail department.

OK, I ordered some more. Hopefully they have not sold out, yet. Will take 5-10 days to get to me.

Yes, this is "real"... I just placed my order for some and purchased a few extras in case others want me to provide them to others as a reworked pump, that I "blueprint", port and install a case hardedned drive gear.

Two dollars and forty cents...?

H'mm. Does this mean this is a clearance blowout of the last-ever American-made oil pumps? Or is this the first of the Chinese-made ones...?

I would guess it's a clearance.... my local Pep Boys showed 60 of the pumps in a mid-West warehouse, I thinks some bean counter said "too many" for this out of date application and they are "fire selling" there way back to a reasonable stocking level.

That's not a fire sale, that's a conflagration.

Well now, will they be Made in USA or not? I ordered up a new pump from Napa last year don't remember the "house brand" but the boxes of other oil pumps they had in stock were "Hecho en Mexico" I figured that was better then you know what. To my suprise when it arrived it was a "Sealed Power" "Hecho en Mexico",ok I'm happy(who would a thought 10 years ago we'd be happy with south of the border parts).Anyway I opens up the box and the pump is sealed in a plastic bag that says "Melling Engine Parts".The bag has english and mexican instructions and the pump is cast "USA" so who knows anymore? The cost was like 60 bucks or so,wished I could had it for 2.40  I'm just the "dark cloud" on this, don't expect it to be USA made

We will see in a week or so. I have a Mopar Performance (Melling) M66HV pump on the shelf. Date on box is 8-99, made in USA. Also a Melling M66C, dated 8-99 also made in USA.

I had to go to 2 pep boys but got 2. One box says Clevite-made in USA and the other box is a Melling- Made in Mexico. I figured they would be gone by time I got out of work.
