Hi. Found this fourm in my google search for Slant 6 225 specs. Just picked up a 1975 Butterscotch Yellow w/black vinyl top Plymoth Scamp. It has 42,xxx original miles and factory a/c. For the most part the car is in great shape. The front passenger quarter has a small surface rust spot and the rear passenger quarter has a rust hole the size of my fist. The paint is in excellent shape for most of its life it was garage kept. The seats have a little seperation at some seems but otherwise in great shape. The original am radio is still installed but a cd player has been mounted underneath the center of the dash in some kinda custom plastic box. Very clean looking install. The wheels are factory rims 14". It starts right up and runs like a top. I am new to this type of car. For awhile I was a big Ford fan of the Supercharged 3.8l V6's. I've owner two supercharged cougars, 89 and 90, both 5 speed manuals.

I sold the last of my cougars in May. In January I bought an 03 Acura CL TypeS with a six speed manual and until now it has been my toy. The Plymouth is the first automatic I have had in a long time. The trans seems to shift excellent and the gearing is suprisingly nice for a 3 speed auto. I can barely feel the motor churning at 65-70. I am a member of two other online car forums, SCCOA.Com (supercoupe club of america)and Acurazine.Com and have found both forums to be great sources of info.

I hope to become a long time member here as well and promise some pics of the car early this week.

Welcome here! If you'll post a clear, close-up photo of your car's fender tag, or an accurate transcription of its contents, we can tell you how, where, and when your car was built. The fender tag is on the driver's side inner fender, and is 2" x 3" metal plate stamped with alphanumerics.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have been browsing a little and found some really cool information! I will take pics of the fender tag which I did find today and post tomorrow. I looked inside the driver door jamb but the sticker is all worn away Just threw my first full tank in last night. It registered as being empty and it took 13.59 gallons. Strange thing though, it didn't go all the way to full. This morning when I came out it was at full. I guess I just have to get used to the older car! I will post milage results after this tank. Seems like there are some inexpensive ways to increase my milage and a little better performace. I'll be taking my acura out to Indy for the Brickyard 400 so after I return I will be looking into some of these little tricks to make her run smoother. Thanks again for the welcome!!!!
