We have a John Deere windrower using the industrial slant 6. The crankshaft has broke. Have it out. What can I use for a replacement have been hearing several stories on what will fit and what wont. Its a cast iron made in the mid 70s. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

You'll have to find a more specific date, or check the bearing size...

As a rule of thumb:

1960 to mid-1976 Forged Crank
mid-1976 to 1987 (and more in some cases) Cast Crank

find out which version it is and go junkyarding.
