First hurdle done! Congrats! And it Looks Great!!!!

Next major hurdle coming up, getting it to run and tuning all the details.

I will be very interested in seeing how the EFI setup reacts to the 'ram effect' above 3500.

Nice, You'll get great mileage with that intake and injector setup..

I just got back from a show today and mine got 22.7 MPG on the way out with a carbby and 3.23's out back.

That is sort of what I want to do eventually with my EFI Slant car, but for now I will just stick with this thing:

I was trying to duplicate the long runner effect of the hyperpak intake on a budget with what I have at the time :)

She fired right up with the previous intake setup's tune. She had a quick 5min road tune, and I drove her to work and back today (30mile round trip, half freeway). Dyno action tomorrow night.

First impression is that she's much more responsive down low compared to the previous combo.

the Efi is on My 79 Volare/ Duster.

I still have the dart setup just the way you see in the picture.


Carlisle was good. Lots of fun there.

More cam and exhaust will get me more power! The thing is as quiet as a church mouse and has a stocky cam. Having said that she is an absolute pleasure to drive. I used to think my car drove very smoothly and well with the previous EFI setup (which it did), but the additional power with no loss of driveability is a wonderful thing. I'm concerned that if I do make her breathe a little longer and easier with some cam and exhaust changes I would detract from the driving experience somewhat - Maybe? She is my daily driver and I use her to loaf along in traffic day in and day out, and part of her appeal is how effortless/quiet/lazy she is in that environment.

One thing this conversion has highlighted is that my brakes and suspension need work! :oops:

A mild cam upgrade and some better exhaust should not hurt your drivability. With a stock torque converter, I would stay below 220 deg @ 0.050" duration, and most people on here would say stay below 215 deg @ 0.050.

I would not go over 2.5" single exhaust for your setup. If you have split exh manifolds or extractors, go with 2 X 2" into a Y-pipe and 2.5" out the back. Dual exhaust is for V engines...

No, as long as you are a bit conservative on your cam selection, you will be fine like Lou says... I currently daily drive with the next cam up from stock the comp cam 252 and stock valves with some port/bowl work... it's got a good wide torque band and has good manners at all rpms... (the hpak has nice torque down lower, but if I read your graph right the stock cam ran out before you really had a chance to 'play', since the tuned/ram effect on this intake starts at 3500 rpm...)

I've had mine wound up to 5-6000 and it just gets fun in that rpm band...
