Car Model:
I recently purchased & brought a 65 Valiant 170c.u. \6 out of retirement. 98 was last inspection sticker and tires are in bad shape. The car at 45mph or 50mph on these old dry rotted tires acts like its doing 90mph shakes, rattles etc on interstate, it has 185/75/13" tires. Are those the proper size tires for that car?I know new tires will help alot. I've owned a few Mopar muscle cars and know that fast cornering and high speed curves was'nt their best asset. I'm also afraid its front end ball joints etc are pretty worn and possibly the old school form of thought of the era with this model makes it just seem to be a 40 to 45 mph made car and it just wasn't meant for high speeds. I don't intend on running it fast it ended up on a short interstate run and i noticed this.I am going to buy new tires in the next few weeks but still curious what all may be causing this? It's a plain jane Valiant100..appreciate the input Jimmy

185/75R13 is fine if you can find it and is close to stock. There are older discussion threads on tire size to be found using the search function.
