So I have the Carter BBD on the car now but I need a good looking air cleaner to seal the deal. I want to get a chrome one or something shiny. I'm thinking round so do any of you guys have any ideas or personal experience for gettng a nice air cleaner on a 2 barrel? The neck has to be between 2 5/8" and 3". Thanks everyone!!

Jake

Any parts store sells a 2 bbl to 4bbl adapter for the air cleaner. Mr Gasket I thinh? Just watch your hood clearance! Drop base might be a good idea.

He's right, most parts stores should have one. It looks like a black plastic ring. It's only a few bucks I think.
I have a job working at O'Reilly's Auto parts, I'll post the price and part number tomorrow.

The part is Mr Gasket # 6407, its a 2 & 5/8 to 5 & 1/8 air cleaner adapter. It costs 3.99 at O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Thanks a lot Wesola, and while we're on the topic of Air Cleaners, what is the maximum height of the air cleaner so it doesn't hit the bottom of the hood. I was thinking 3' but I'm not entirely sure.

3 feet.............

That will stick way out of the hood.

Your welcome.
Nice lookin' Dart by the way!
I think you meant 3" (inches), and not 3' (feet). I'm not sure, you'll just have to try and see. At our store, we would let you unbox the air cleaner and filter and see if there is enough clearance. Just close the hood SLOWLY :!: If it's too tall, just go a little shorter.
I think that around 2" should be fine. 3" may be too tall, but I'm not sure about that.
