It is the general consensus that the best parts for a slanted tune-up are:

Cap: Standard-Bluestreak CH-410X
Rotor: Napa Echlin MO-3000
Plugs: NGK ZFRN gapped at .040 for pr-74 heads

That's all well and good, but I can't find the cap or rotor listed on either Napa's or Autozone's websites. I haven't tried it yet, but i am doubtful that the counterperson at any of these stores will be able or know how to look these parts up.

Anybody have a source for these parts?

Thanks!

Reed,

Our NAPA Auto Parts here in Black Diamond gets them for me.
I believe RockAuto.com has them on line.

Thanks Ted! I will see if I can find a store that can order them in for me.

My napa doesn't carry the SMP cap so I actually got it on Amazon.com, strangely enough!

NAPA has the rotor (special order) and plugs (in stock) though.

The Advance website shows it can order the CH-410x , but it would take 5 days

Reed,

Open it in the store and compare it to a regular rotor. They put the wrong rotor in a MO3000 lableled box ever now and then.

Any O'Reilly Auto Parts store should have 'em. If they are not in stock at my store, I can order them and they will be in the next day.
At O'Reilly's, Borg Warner is the brand to get for ignition components. Pretty good quality.
Just another option for you...

If you have a Baxter's they have SMP and NGK, or you can even get them through Schucks-Kragen depending on whether they actually look through the options on the computer screen instead of the first couple of 'brands'...

Oh yeah, O'Reilly's has NGK plugs as well. That's what I use in my 225 Volare.

My slant takes the smae plug as my 360.......now that Autolite is made in China.....

I guess this plug will fit my van as well.

I ordered a couple of these rotors online and wanted to know how everyone else like them. Im buying these to try them out. Hopefully it will yield good results with the new slant for the duster :D

The MO-3000 extended tip rotors are great!

Which allow me to run the NGK UR4GP/6630 spark plugs gapped at .045

Wel, I ordered in a cap at the local Baxter's and a rotor at the local Napa across the street. I pick them up tomorrow. I will get some good plugs while I am at Baxter's cause they stock them.
