my work scedule has kept me from the track and i won`t make it untill the last weekend in august, so i desided to finish some of the odd jobs on the race car. the front skinnies are done. they are redrilled turbo thunderbird spare aluminum rims 15x4 and michillins 135 XZ x 15 tires, the rear are 15x12 weld prostars and 29.5x 11.5w slicks, a friend of mine is going back to the street so he has given me full use of his 8in race converter, all i need to do is swap a 4speed into his car, good deal, also i went full out and put a proper blower drive 2in pulleys and idler and gates belt. all that is left is to start the new paint scheme, i am going to try the colors on alan johnson pro-stock neon.hopefully with the belt problems fixed and this pro-built converter i might get into the low 11`s.

Very nice work, Terry. Can't wait to hear/see how it runs.

Wow is an understatement. You have built quite an impressive car. Every engineering detail raises a ton of questions: how did you do that? why did you do that? what material is that? etc. etc. etc. Thanks for sharing the photos. The photos alone are quite an undertaking.

Sam

just had her running and did a few dry hops out the garage door, the new converter spins up fast, only have about 30ft,ha.sam the intake is a stock cast iron one bbl, i use 3/16 plate and 7018 rods and arcweld it together, it wasn`t bad to weld but a trick my uncle showed me with a propane torch to preheat and slow cool by passing flame over the weld area until you stop hearing the metal tinning sound works just go slow or you will have cracks to reweld.as for the rest once the intake was level to the crank it all fell together. i have been on line searching racing forumla to get some idea on what fuel i can use with how much boost, one i found uses intake valve closing point to give comp ratio`s at boost, it worked out with the cam i have at 8lbs boost my finial ratio is 11.89/1 and said 92octane can handle 12.01/1 comp in a blown engine. i don`t know if i want to gamble or stay with the 50/50 mix of av-gas and supreme.

will just got the last of the blower pulleys, if anybody are buying blower drive parts you must check out (motorfantasticautoparts) on e-bay, they make everything to your mearsurements for the same price, good quality parts and service,it was cheaper through them even coming from santa fe springs, california,i had the pulleys made 2 1/2ins wide with a 2 1/4in regerister that will fit a stock bb dodge damper and drilled to the 3 bolt pattern for a sb/bb chev which is the same as the larger pattern on a slantsix stock damper. with the belt just order a gates timing belt at any belts supplier they are half the price of the speed shops. so now i can drive the blower 10%under 1to1 or 10%over just by swapping the top pulley, i only drilled the bottom 33tooth pulley for both bolt patterns and keep the 30t,33t,&36t pulleys with the 6bolt pattern. now i have to fix the bonnet and freshen up the paint and it all goes will i will make the track on the30/31 aug weekend.
