Is your valiant around 3200? I cant remember...

I can get the '66 valiant for $75 so Im really scratchin my head on that....

3200 was w/me in it before the last round of cutting.

I have the car down around 2800ish now.

For $75 you can sawzall the crap out of it.

I have had pretty good luck making my own lightweight parts from steel pieces. I made a lift of trunk and hood by removing the bracing from each. I dropped the weight of the lid from from 40# to 20# I cut it pretty close to the lip. Im unemployed and have no $$$ to buy fiberglass stuff so making factory stuff light works on my budget

'63-66 valiant may be the lightest in the sedan configuration but the '67-69 darts can be made the lightest using all the fiberglass parts available.

These cars are more attractive when you need rear tire space.

There are quite a few fiberglass pieces available for sure. The biggest gains seem to be by using fiberglass hoods. I've talked to a local drag racer and he told me that alot of the fiberglass fenders out there dont save that much weight and are really a waste of money.

Im a weight freak and love to take slightly rough sheetmetal and make it really light by cutting. Ive done quite a few hoods and trunklids. I did a '66 barracuda trunk lid that now weighs 7 pounds As 'Zilla has stated with a hole saw and a little time you can make stuff really light for FREE. I have alot more time than money ....

I hear good gains come from switching the glass to plexi as well.
