1972 Swinger with a 7.25. My mechanic pulled the noisy rear apart to find that the pinion seal and axle bearings need to be replaced. I had to find parts to fedex to him so I called Randy's Ring and Pinion in Washington. The guy seemed very knowledgeable and said the book found unique bearings and seals for 72 -- different from either 73up or 71down. Does this sound right? Shouldn't all 7.25s have the same bearings and seals?

Thanks in advance to anybody who knows.

In case anybody was wondering the bearings fit great. Of course -- that doesn't solve the mystery of why Randys's ID'd unique bearings for a 72, but the ones they sent me fit just fine.
