Hi I did the scarebird conversion back in the winter and it went well
The kit I used was an older version, which did not specify the use of a proportioning valve to the rear brakes. The stopping ability is better than that of a stock 4 wheel drum set up, however I still have a bit of a hard pedal, which Im hoping will soften a bit as the miles increase. (only driven maybe 250 miles since)
The positives are predictable stopping with no fade.
Negatives are I was not able to use the stock 14" wheels , however others on this site who have done the conversion ,HAVE had luck with the stock wheels. I changed to 15" ralleyes.
