IVR is combined with the fuel gauge. It would have been nice if they were separate.

I put one of the RTE limiters in our car about a month ago. It is the best option I have seen and works perfectly. The gauges are right on, come up faster than ever and it should not destroy the gauges if it ever goes bad or has a loose connection.

I was using a 5v. regulator that I put together. It worked but the gauges were slow and read low by at least 10%. I was going to use a lm317 adjustable regulator until I found out about the RTE regulator. It is a no hassle, 100% solution.

RTE E Body Limiter
IVR3 Style Mopar part#2209216
Cost $50

RTE ABlimiter
IVR4 style mopar Part #2258413
Cost $50

The cost seems a little bit steep for my pocket...

Funny, I found 2 yesterday and posted it over in the "other" forum today. Interesting read.

Quality engineering and manufacture costs money...more so at low volumes. How many times would you like to disassemble the instrument cluster? I like the safeguards the RTE limiter has against gauge cooking (burnout).

I think standard still sells the original style plug in regulator that could be adapted to an older car, but even they cost over $30.00. Who knows how good they are? I never liked knowing that one day my gauges could fry without warning. You would still have that risk. This sort of thing especially concerns me with a car that is not driven often.

I would bite the bullet and buy quality. I have regretted "saving" money, but never regretted spending a little more for something worth having.

What can you buy for a new car that costs $50? Not much...
