I need help identifying the proper name of a body part that I think I'm missing. When I open up the passenger door, I can see the front tire? Is there a piece of sheet metal or something in the fender well that I'm missing? If so what is it and where can I find one?

The part you are probably missing is called, Shield, dash panel to fender part # 2254 804-5.
The code # from a 1963 collision parts list is 23-34-121.
You will probably need to start looking in wrecking yards, or ask around the forums such as this one.

The correct # is 2242-442-3 for a Dart, the # in my post above is for a full size Dodge.

Is it safe to assume the same piece listed for the Dart is the same for the Valiant? It's a 63 Valiant.

I believe they are the same, but not sure. I know you can swap a whole Dart front clip onto a Valiant and vice versa for 63-66 cars.

Yes they are the same for Dart & Valiant, Probably 63/64/65/66 are the same but I don't have the parts list for the years other than the 63.

Hardtop has no "B" pillar behind the door, while the sedan does. This makes the sedan lighter and stiffer, but people don't like the looks as much. Me, I like 4drs and 2dr sedans best.

I believe a hardtop and a coupe are exactly the same thing.

Ok, so technically that would make mine the 2 door sedan then? Just struck me as odd to use the word sedan with a 2 door car. Mine is a 2 door with the B pillar behind the door (between front and back windows). I'm just trying to learn some of the correct terminology and as much as I can about my little Valiant. :)

I think it's just a matter of where somebody is raised up and who with 8) Around here if theres no frame around the top and back of the door glass it's a hardtop(two, four door an wagons)and the rest we called 2dr posts or 4dr sedans.Coupe now,40 Ford coupe wasn't a hardtop and my uncle had a 49 Ford Business Coupe and a 50 Ford 2dr sedan(Fords terms) and they were both posts.Since we're talking slants here I'd just call it,Good
