I know some of these intakes have been modified to run 2bbls instead of the factory 1bbl carbs. I was just wondering if anyone had pics of the mounting pads after they cut them for the 2bbls. I'm gonna be trying this myself soon, and would just like a better Idea how to get things under way. Either that, or just cut a big rectangle out of the pad, but I think that sounds a bit messy/amateurish. Just wondering what everybody did. Just in case, I did get a pair of 1bbl-2bbl adapters from langdon's stovebolt along with a dual Holley/Weber linkage kit. But since this is in an A-body mopar, I figured height could be an issue. Any input would be much appreciated.

Forget those "adaptors", they're worse than pointless.

The 2bbl mod is easy: Just remove the four 1bbl mounting studs (two per carb pad), get a 2bbl base gasket (the kind with the single bathtub-shaped hole, not the one with two round holes), carefully centre it on the carb pad and use spray paint or machining dye to mark its position on the mounting pad. Then remove the gasket and there's your cut-and-drill pattern, right before your very eyes! :-)

Hi, pharmboy, it seems I am going the same route as you (the 5041 as soon as I acquire one) as well, the two 2bbls. Please keep posting any progress I'm doing my homework here :) Seems Howell has the cheapest I've seen so far $271.00 w/linkage. But I am waiting to see how the group buy pans out.
