hey midi. really sorry to hear of your situation. have been through 2 major breakups in my time which both involved kids and cars. fortunately my exes have both been incredible to deal with in regards to the kids. i did lose 2 cars though. my 38 plymouth and a my fully kustomized 54 desoto which i had roof chopped etc, and although it didnt owe me a lot of money, it owed me well over 1200 hours and i hadnt even finished it yet.

the pain that one goes through during a break up is one of the toughest things we encounter as human beings. its the loss of the dreams and goals that a couple share that just seem to rip one apart. be sure of a couple of things.

1, time WILL heal all wounds. its a cliche, and im sorry if it sounds nonchalant, i most definitely have no intention of that. i sincerely hope that you take the time to heal yourself through this tough time.

and 2 - remember that your car, is a car. it wont cry if you dont tell it you love it, or work on it etc. one thing i leanred the very very hard way, never ever put a car before a person. regardless of it being a friend, a lover or even a stranger in need of help. your car will sit patiently and await your time and efforts. never consider it a priority to work on a car.

now dont take me wrong with that comment, i love working on cars as much as the next man / woman (yes, i know plenty who love working on cars), and we all often give ourselves a deadline in order to motivate ourselves to work on our cars / projects etc. and hopefully our parteners in life would be understanding and supportive of that. but sometimes, they need our time and effort to be spent on them. and im not saying that youre to blame, it goes both ways. you need time spent on you also.

but in the end, i just hope and pray that you get through this stumbling block in your life with your self intact. if you feel there is something worth saving with her, then honestly give it your 100% best shot to make it work. afterall, love is above all, the greatest thing we get to experience in life.

sorry for getting all Dr Phil, i just really hate seeing fellow car guys going through times like this.

all the best.

ricki
