I just got back from Drag Week. Needless to say, I was the only slant in the mix. I think that after talking to a few people that we have figured out a few of the issues.

I am running the blue Dart with the GM supercharger. The timing is advanced as far as it will go. We had mostly 90 - 95 degrees and humid. Not sure of the carb except that it is a Carter with vacuum secondaries.

It never did have an utterly clean run and we made 65 passes in 6 days (plus 1200 miles of driving to get to each of the tracks). If you stood on it off the line, it would bog right away, and stalled once. If you roll on, it will travel about 60 - 100 feet and then pause before it gets going to the end. Best time 16.89 at 79.2. Not the slowest car, but in contention. It also seemed to want the trans cool, but the engine warm.

Plans for upgrades include a Holly 450 with mechanical secondary. We are pretty sure that most of our bogging is because of uneven fuel delivery off the line. Also, an electric fan and have the trans checked. After 6 days of racing and 1200 miles, it was starting to feel a bit tired.

Any thought for improvements would be welcome.

As for drag week, it was an absolute blast. I hope to see some slants next year. My buddy had so much fun that he is already planning which car he can have ready for next year.
