That's my opinion for racing. The runner cross section is larger. Clifford also offers engine coolant plenum heat for some of their manifolds. For a Header equipped driver, that can be an important consideration for cooler environments. I have a very nicely done Clifford intake for my Chevy pickup that has this feature.
I don't know if they offer it for the slant six manifold. I haven't checked.

I run an Offy on my slant. There's nothing wrong with them, and for many builds, they perform just fine. :D

I've used both Clifford and Offy manifolds. I think the Offy has better mixture distribution and makes for good street manners with a stock exhaust manifold. 2 1/4" exhaust off the stock manifold with the heat riser blocked open has been working quite well for me. The aluminum manifold heats up quickly even with the somewhat restricted exhaust heat. In fact I may restrict the exhaust heat more. I have a newer Clifford intake with water heat provisions built in and fuel injector bosses. I plan to use the Clifford manifold with headers and a water valve to control manifold heat on another car.

The clifford manifold has cast-in bungs at the ends of the intake runners for the addition of fuel injectors...or NITROUS!...aside from that, I believe they're pretty much the same intake.

The clifford has alot more plenum area, this is easyer to see with them next to each other. Also depends on the year of the casting if you get the injector bungs. Only close performance wise.

Until TF puts the hose to it.... Wicked/Six likes his hooch!

Seriously though, you can run either to good results. If your goal is to soar at the track, I would like a clifford. I don't have quite the radical build to use it to effect.

A tad bit here and there helps, depending on your goal! I don't think the Clifford would cost you any economy with the type of build that would command either one.

Once I go on the Dual Dutra Duals? Now, then the Clifford will command on the street. Adding heat to the plenum will be adventagous. :D

I've been eyeing the triples for Weber sidedrafts myself....

How 'bout a group buy on a "Kit" Larry? I'd like to focus on something with carbs and linkages... Like Redline... Maybe a group buy!

Call me, anything.. but late for dinner!

Tell me how it goes!!!! Is anyone going to do any comparisons in performance with the Hurricane vs. Offy?

Well mine is sitting on the work bench right now. I go out occasionally and slober on it! I can tell you that it is well made. I took it to a friend of mine that reproduces hemi crossrams (A&A) and he thought it looked very good! If the truth be known I really wanted a hyper-pak to go on an exposed engine roadster. This manifold was designed with the "spirt" of the h-pak in mind. That being a long runner design. If an Offy and a hyper pak could have a love child, the Hurricane would probably be it! Go to the Aussie speed site and check out the flow bench work they have been doing. More to say but it will have to be later! :D

Looked at the Aussie web site and liked what I saw, concerning the Hurricane intakes, it is my guess that the long runners add power mainly at higher RPM's, is there likly any drop off on low rpm torque and drivability associated to a manifold of this design? I am considering the 2bbl version, actually found it at a couple of speed shop's down under.
Again, I'm doing a mildly enhanced street vehicle, intake, carb, Dutra Duals, probably a cam,

The long runners are for low rpm, short runners high rpm.....

emsvitil and others are right, the long runners should favor the low to mid range. Possibly making it a decent street intake. The hyper-pak also had looong runners, but was designed for a higher(race) rpm range. It is an interesting dilema and worth the research! Reading your post you can probably accomplish your goal without paying the shipping from AU. Been there done that - not cheap! If you are thinking mild super six it! Good luck with your project!

I looked on the Aussiespeed site too and seems like they tested plenums that worked well on other intakes as well as carb spacers. They are definitely trying to get the most out of it...awesome! 8)
