Got a call from Mike tonight. He was at the NHRA Division 5 Open at Kearney, NE today, loaded for bear. He had all the best parts and baddest tricks on board trying to go 1.0 under so he could qualify in the top half of the field. He ended up going 1.25 under, just missing setting a National Record. To get the record he had to go 1.27 under. He did qualify #8! :D :D :D :D :D

Congrats Mike on doing a great job with a really tough combination!

Wow, great work, and nutz that he didn't quite get it. I assume he ran 14.93 or so?? Seymour was here at Clay City and said he had to beat 14.91...

Quite a feat for that heavy car and a 1bbl carb at 2000+ ft elevation!!

Yes Lou, he went .93. It is a Super Six motor though. Still a tough deal making a car with the aerodynamics of a barn go that fast. :D

That is most impressive.

I am working on getting an "All American" Slant 6 drag race in the central US next year or maybe the year after. Kearney, NE looks like the best location to me. :D

That Super Six BBD 2 bbl really holds a SL6 back and makes it hard to compete in the "Stock" classes.
It would sure be nice if they allowed the Hyper-pak set-up.

That would be nice Doug, but hard to pass off as an option on a Diplomat.

Maybe Mike can get Seymour to write a letter verifying they were made Like Carroll Shelby did for the bogus 427 option in the Shelby Mustangs.
