So I need a new electronic voltage regulator for my '73 Dart. I just found one sitting on the shelf in my garage. I know it's been there for at least 10 years, and I don't remember where it came from. It's the usual two pin, silver one with two bolts holes on one side and one on the other. It was in a Mopar box, but theres no Mopar stamp on it anywhere. Has "Made In USA" between the bolt holes on one side, and on the back, stamped in the rubber filling is;

61749
-8 DA

A close inspection of the bolt holes and pins indicates it's never been used. Should I trust it?

Try it. Make sure it's well grounded to the body when you do. Age matters very little on these.
