Dear All,

I am about to tear a slant 6 apart for refurbish. Can any one inform me about the original thickness of an Slant 6 cylinder head so that I measure it and understand if its machined or not.

Looking forward to your replies...

I measured a bunch of stock heads. They measured from 3.595 to 3.606. This is from the head gasket surface to the valve cover surface. The best way to check is to measure the combustion chamber cc's.
