I haven't seen any talk about harmonic balancers. Seems that it would be most critical on 6 what with a long crank. Does anyone have a favorite or would a stock one do on a mildly modified engine? Mild meaning, head work, mild cam, headers, manifold carb, etc. etc.

I have a stocker on my motor, and it's pretty much as you described. A Fisher or Fluidamper would be better, but on a street motor you end up with pulley alignment problems.

The really fast guys (in the 10s) I've talked to use either Fisher or ATI dampers, and say the fluid-type dampers are junk. You can use a BB Chrysler damper.

I use the Fisher damper on my dragcar, it is the same as the Bb Mopar and it sticks out aways from the t. chain cover, that was until I faced-off some of the hub, now it tucks right up to the cover.

As noted, the real pain is repositioning all the pulleys, a factory SL6 damper has the V belt groove right in the damper ring, none of the aftermarket ones have that so all the grooves have to be moved forward.

I'm not sure Fluidamper is still around, not that I would buy one, they are heavy.

Hi Tim,

I looked at your website, and I cannot tell the price or how to order a damper from you. Can you give us a price?

Thanks,

Greg

Tim listed the price at $295 in the 'Zilla Killa engine build' thread.
