:? $1400 to rebuild my 904 on my 68 Dart. This sound reasonable?
The alternative is to do my self but I really want to drive it within the next 2 years :D

??!!!!!

A local shop rebuilt mine for $400 last year, including parts! Granted, I pulled the tranny myself (it was already out for an engine rebuild) and carried it in, but they didn't make it sound like I got much of a discount for doing that.

I'd look elsewhere!

I did some a little more leg work and found a reputable garage in Woodstock Va. who will pull it and overhaul for $800. Much better!

The "R&R" from the car adds some cost. (Remove & Re-install)
When getting repair quotes, I always ask for 2 different prices, the price for the job when you bring them the car and the price if you just bring them the trans to rebuild "on the bench".
