My 83 vans 833 is in need of some work(input bearing?)and figured to get me a "overhaul" kit.Does anybody make such a kit? RockAuto lists only for the 435 which to my knowlage didn't even come in the van, that confuses me somewhat(my normal state) :? Any other options out there? Just trying to save a bit of down time by having everything in hand. Thanks

Not sure exactly where one can be had, but I know there has to be somewhere nearby you, maybe in Seattle. I would contact MiDi and see what he can dig up, see'in as how he has access to that sort of stuff, workin at his brothers shop and all.

What kind of things is the transmission doing/not doing to make you suspect? Input bearing noise will be heard just about anything the clutch is engaged.

Thanks Thor, yeah I'll be seeing Neil and others this weekend so questions I will ask  It started making a nice "rackety rackety thunkity thunkity" last week and goes away when clutch is depressed(like me  ) not the throwout,to slow a noise/rythum I'm thinking.About 10K on clutch an 700 miles since it was apart for motor install and all was well.200K on tranny so I figure might need some touchin up.No other probs or noises so just trying to cover all the bases 8)

The rebuild kit has kind of gone the way of the dodo for the A-833OD in regular circles... you have only a couple of places to grab one now that you can trust...

Passon Performance

and
Brewers Transmissions

I have dealt with both on linkage parts and they both are reputable.

Brewers looks to have the kit as an RBK10...

Ihave not bought any from Scott at Moparts P + S this year but see no reason why they would have gone out of business. I first found him/them on ebay years ago, and have always had great service. They are very knowledgeable and sell all new stuff. If they are not on ebay PMme and I will email you the phone number. You don't ahve to buy off ebay, they sell so the public. Old time Mopar folks with an amazing parts collection. Singel bolts to trannies.

Don't waste you time buying from Moparts P+S. All I got was a bunch of excuses, and when the package finally arrived nearly a month after I was told (by Scott) that it was shipped, only half of the parts were in the box. When I finally got all the parts wo weeks later, the tailhousing seal was the incorrect one. What a waste of time and money.

PLEASE, order from Passon or Brewer's, not Moparts P + S. Both are very good companies and both specialize in Mopar 4-speed parts and you will be very satisfied with either. Learn from my mistake!

thanks Pink,

I bought from Scott for years with never a glitch and only great service, but as I noted I hadn't bought this year. Things change....

Same here. A few years back I bought parts with no issues, so I was really surprised and disappointed this time around. I just don't want to see someone else get crappy service like I did.
