I imagine this topic has been brought up a time or two. I tried using the search, but it must be down? Anyways, I need a set of headers for my '64 D100 /6 A745 three on the tree with a cast iron bell. Clifford no longer makes low starter headers and I'd rather not chop mine up and start rewelding.

The rear set exits right at the starter solenoid as they sit now (Clifford high starter shorties) People have suggested using the mini starter, but I'm afraid it only fits the high starter bell. (the starters for high and low bells apparently have a different bolt pattern. If I am wrong, please correct me.)

Any other ideas on what to do? Clifford recommended taking the angle out of the rear set to where they exit straight down. He said that would make them (nearly) identical to the low starter headers he used to make. I'm confident enough in my metal work (cutting, TIG welding) to do it and not screw it up, I'd just prefer to not have to ruin the ceramic coating.

Help! :( ,
Stephan

Hooker Headers 5834HKR $439.95 at summit look these up and see what you think. These are for trucks only due to thier exit path so starter location shouldnt be an issue.

Those are for the '72-80 trucks. Not sure if they will fit the '64 or not. Anyone know for sure either way?
