i just got my super six on this weekend......
me and my dad tore apart the carb and got it back together,and now it runs,revs fine in park and netural, but when i am in drive and i accelerate
it just boggs down and sputters and pops through the carb. i cant even get past 25mph. its a carter carb by the way.

any ideas?

anything would be much appriciated.

did you soak and spread the leather cup on the accelerator pump piston as per the rebuild kit instructions ?

How did the engine run before you tore the carb apart? If it ran OK and did not have the problems you have now, I would say that you need to adjust the metering rods up top, under the cover in the airhorn.

If it did this before you tore it apart, I would start looking at ignition timing.

found out the float was way tooo low. second of all my vacum port of the carb to the vacum advance wasnt getting vacum so i switched ports and she runs like a top. just got my lokar kickdown cable on in about 2hrs then ran out of daylight but it seems decent,need some tweaking.
