at some point i will rewire parts of my a100 - i will be visiting the local pull a part for other concerns - while there i may pick up a fuse panel from ? blade style newer - good or bad idea to use for rewire? - if good anything i should look out for - oo3

Answer here depends on how extensive you plan your rewiring to be. If you're after a fusebox that'll take modern blade-type fuses, that sounds like you're rewiring pretty extensively. In that case, be aware you can get well-made, brand new blade-type fuseboxes for not too much money that will often be easier to work with than boxes yanked from the yard.

yes would like to rewire a good amount - this will be later - need to address possible safety issues like brakes first - recommendations for new fuse panels - or ones to stay away from - thank you - oo3

You can get a new fuse kit from Painless for $125 bucks. It comes with the panel, fuses, wires, and instructions. Thats what I would go for.

Fuhgeddaboudit. "Painless" Wiring's stuff is overpriced junk, and it's anything but painless to install. Which fusebox to pick out depends on how many circuits you need.

Well, its complicated, but if your starting from nothing (and know how to wire), its the cheapest solution. (in my book anyway.)

van is stock with i believe 6 circuits - does have factory heat and i installed a factory am radio - there will be no stereo or thumpin stuff while i own it - i should have some extra capacity though - so the ability for maybe 10 or ? circuits ? - ( i would do more homework before i actually started this ) - as with all my posts i appreciate this site and all opinions given - thank you - oo3

Perfect thread to hijack

Since I'm planning to gradually upgrade things in my van (B100),
I'd appreciate ideas for a fuse & relay box so I can start things right.

• Fog-lights rewire
• Tachometer & vacuum gauge light wiring
