I have looked at Lokar's kick down cable kit, and don't know if their bracket will work on a slant that has a factory type accelerator cable.

I found this cable kit & supplemental bracket that looks as if it would easily adapt to a slant six with a Holley 4160 4 barrel, and I could keep my existing go peddle cable:

I used a Lokar kickdown on my 84 Ford van. Installed easy, works great, no problems. Never tried one on a Mopar though...

I won't doubt that the Lokar setup has been made to work successfully, but I will never use it just because of the generic, "make it work however you can" way it's made. The factory-parts solution (either via a wrecking yard or prepackaged from Bouchillon) is not only specifically designed around a Chrysler Torqueflite transmission, but it's also a nicer and more elegant solution, with repair parts readily available rather than having to go back to Lokar. That's my opinion on the matter, is all.

Good point. Factory parts is best.

It would be nice if somone out there that had a complete and unmolested Super Six linkage system could post some measurements or a diagram or something so folks could fabricate their own linkage piece out of allthread or conduit or some similar type of material. Remember that the tranny lever is also different for Super Six cars too.

I noticed the cable operated kickdown on late model Dodge trucks a couple of years ago. I even posted a "will this work" question here, but I never did anything with it.
