Can the lash tighten up on an intake valve by just running it? About 35K since the '69 head was rebuilt.

If the seat sinks faster than the valve train wears the lash will decrease.

Is this the first adjustment in 35k miles? Was the adjustment done under the same conditions as when the head was reinstalled? Was the head gasket ever retorqued? How much did the lash decrease?

Lash too tight to start with will cause the seats to sink.
