Those would be great for under hood applications! But might take to much consentration to figure the number then get your eye's back on the road on in cab apps!.

that is right, and you really cant win with the sampling rate, too low and you have no accuracy; too high and you cant read the display. best to have an analog gauge you can track peripherally while you watch the road.

Yeah, I was looking for an analog gauge , just saw those ,and I figured lets throw it out here for comments.
I think I am leaning toward the Sunpro CP7906 Mini Super Tach II .I am trying to figure the best place to put it at to be out of the way. With the super tach II ,I could mount it to the steering column.

Where have any of you put your tachs at?

Dave

Analog is the only way to go. I had a digital dash equipped Impala for a short time. Among the many things that bugged the crap out of me about that bucket of bolts was the digital dash. My head can't compute numbers relative speed with out a lot of thought. Nothing beats the swing of a needle to be able to read what the gage is telling one, particularly when there is a yellow than red zone on the gage face. That GM POS is long gone...

1967 Dart below:
My car had a small cheep non functioning tachometer clamped to the steering column when I purchased her that I removed to access the gage cluster last spring. I reinstalled the tachometer last month in the same spot using a radiator clamp & dense black foam gasket material left over from the heater box rebuild as padding:

Yeah, what was the General drinking when he decided to place the distributer on the end of the cam behind the water pump. And, the dealer only cap crap... Oh its a honey all right.
