Well, I haven't given up on her yet. I took her up to West Coast Diesel and Auto on Friday and got all 4 tires on steelies now. I know, I know! I shoulda done that a while ago. Like after the sl/6 meet! At any rate. Noel hooked me up with the tire swap, lugs and also the idler arm for basically the price of the idler arm. YAY!! Glad to know him that's for sure(I guess I can thank MiDi) Oh! He also tightened up the dust cup and the wheel bearing on the right sde. That thingwas LOOSE.

Now I no longer have to hear my right rear tire rub on the fender well!! Yay! That rules.

I'm still having trouble with the knocking though. I know at the meet it was noted that the rims didn't seat correctly with the brake drum. I don't think that's the whole probem tho. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if I do the pitman arm that noise will go away? That's next on the agenda. Hell, after the pitman arm gets done, I might trade her for the red GrandMa car!

Did you get another drum for the right side? I told you when I fixed it you'll need another one soon. That race is just spinning in the hub, and my beating on the inside to crudly knurle the inside and the aluminum tape around the race was only a temporary fix. Also, I told you the upper left ball joint is shot...replace the two upper ball joints in pairs. That may help some in the front end noise department. Two things you don't want to go bad on a car: Brakes, and front end parts. Break something on the front end, you lose control. Something go wrong with the brakes, no stop. Either way, the car will end up balled up. I don't want to see you or Charlie hurt!

and i also say replace the front end and check all 4 brakes. a single used 10" drum is pretty cheap up @ wildcat. i could drop one off up at the shop on my next run up there. also keep in mind your going to need the following stuff done asap: new exhaust manifold, new timing set, new carb or rebuild .. get with sl6 dan about a new carb or talk to noel he can hook u up with the guys that built my 2300 holley. anyways get a 1bbl 1920 on there. if you have to remove your exhaust manifold wich u do .. i woudl say it would be a good time for a super six 2 bbl intake. best to get your super stacks ( intake and exhaust) off the same car anyways. cause yoru looking @ a new carb and a new manifold. have noel hook u up with a nice 2bbl setup.

I 2nd Eric on this. I had the race of the right front outer wheel bearing of my '66 Dart spin in the hub. Replacing the hub/drum assembly was the only solution.

You think Belzona was the way to fix my Dart in 1991? Do you think that Belzona and machining is more cost effective than paying $25-$50 for a good hub and drum?

as stated my repair pouches came to around $65CDN and i only had to use a tiny portion of the compound, now any additional repair i do with it will put me out the cost of machining alone. no more scrounging for good used components which over here is very time-consuming and costly, but in any case is not getting easier for anyone.

you can repair anything from bearing housings to shafts to cracked engine blocks with this stuff and the success of the product is actually documented in hundreds of bulletins spread throughout the various regional websites belzona has. and their product support is excellent. hell, id invest in the company if i had the money.

PS my repaired hubs now have over 12K on them and still perfect.

In 1991 the 9" drum cost me $25. It's nearly impossible walk anything custom into a machine shop and get it back for $25.

the guy did mine for $10. thats for both.

hey argue all you want but after the initial cost outlay for the compound it's a no-brainer. it cost me far more than that to get my axle shaft spraywelded and it still came out cheaper than if i had had one rush-delivered from wildcat or nationalmoparts (pulling the part, shipping) to get my car back on the road in less than a week, i could have repaired that shaft with belzona for about $20 plus compound which would have been already on my shelf...

i can do 20 shafts now with this kit and still have leftovers.

belzona is not yet marketed for the automotive industry as such, which they should IMO. marine is the closest application with a lot of crossover information. for instance, the belzona ontario site yields:
