Hello folks, I am new to this list, but hopefully I can find the information I am looking for... :) I have 74 Dodge Dart Swinger with...tada!!! Slant 6...never would have guessed it huh?... :) To get to the point . I am in the process of getting new tires and I have decided to put 185/75R14's up front, but I want to know what is the largest I can put on the rear which is stock. Later I may lift it a slight amount i the rear but it will stay stock for now. Thank you.

Hello and WELCOME!

sounds like you have a nice car there! as for tires you should be able to go up to P225's on the rear.

See ya around
Justin

Thanks for the reply. 225/85? 75? I would like them a little taller in the rear but considerably wider if possible. The car has records back from and including the original purchase order with the trade in information on the car that the lady traded in to get this one. She traded in a 68 Dart and got $900 for it and paid $3300 on top of that. The records she kept has told me everything she did where maintenance is concerned.

FWIW, I run 235/60-14 all the way around on my 68 Barracuda. No clearance problems up front and lots of room to go bigger in the back.

With your Dart, it you have the large 5x4.5 lug pattern, you can run 15x7" rims from a Cordoba and 235x60 tires with plenty of clearance.
