I heard that the backing plates for the 8.25, and the 8.75 are interchangeable. Is this true?

I'd like to experiment with ducting on another set of backing plates, rather than having my car down too long, and there is a guy locally on craigslist with a set of backing plates from the 8.75. my car has an 8.25. hence the question...

As long as they are not A body backing plates you should be fine. The 10X1-3/4 brakes used a different plate I believe.

In that case I'd just get some backing plates from a big bolt pattern 7 1/4. I put 7 1/4 backing plates on my 8 3/4, but it used shortened C-body wagon axles. Like 'Zilla I believe the A-body 8 3/4 backing plates are different.
