I finally came up with an off the shelf slant six stroker combo that ought to work reasonably well using forged pistons and all off the shelf parts. It packs 203 cubic inches. This one would use a 170 block, 198 crank, Nissan SR20DET pistons (32 mm compression heigth, 87.5 mm bore, flat tops, and a 22 mm piston pin), and Mitsubishi 4G63 (Turbo Eclipse) connecting rods, preferably the second generation ones with the 22 mm pin diameter. The motor would have a 1.62:1 rod ratio and around 9.7:1 compression. If you need less, run the pistons from a turbo 300ZX as they have a 9 cc dome.

This one does require a bit of machine work, besides the obvious overbore. The sides of the rods will need to be milled a little (as in a few thousandths of an inch) at the big end, and the rod journals have to be turned down to the Mitsubishi's 1.89" bearing size. Smaller bearings mean less friction and more horsepower. This could also allow for plenty of interesting offset grinding possibilities. The pistons and pins should fit together with the Nissan piston pins.

This is of course just on paper, but it may mean more hope for those looking for a forged piston source with the slant six and 2.2 sources drying up.

Matt, this sounds very interesting ,strokeing without welding the journals,,, what is the length of those rods? I'm interested in building a 225 with an offset ground crank thanks Bruce

The Mitsubishi rods are 150 mm long, which is definitely too short to use on a stroked 225.

They'd be great if you stroked it an inch.
