My old 63 valiant 225 droped a ring at only 159,999.. :( I found a rebuilt 225 for a good price, It's only the old 1 barrel holley, I have the super six manifold but lack the kickdown, Located one of an old aspen in the junk yard will it work, Also changeing the 3.73 rear out for a ford 8" with a 3.23 rear while I got the motor out will the super six and the 3.23 gear be a pretty good setup for for just a cruser

Yes it will, if the Aspen is an automatic 2bbl car. But you'll have to convert the '63 to cable-type throttle linkage and accelerator pedal.

This doesn't quite make sense. What rear axle is presently in the car? 3.73 was not available in Mopar rear axles. It was available in the Ford 8".

 my 7.25 went out so I fabbed up a nissan pickup rearend and it came out of a 5 speed truck I looked it up it's gear ratio is 3.75 so at about 50-60 mile per hour I'm turring about 3000 rpm I also forgot to mention I putting v 8 torrsoin bars in at the same time and the reasin for the 8 inch ford is because it was free it's a 3.23 gear with the slant six I figure it should be good out on the road and in town when I need to get out. I will miss the 3.75 gears though a good running /6 with that gear can beat a rice burning honda like a red headed step child from one light to the next done it many times with a wore out one barrel sitting on top of my tired old slant 6  I figure the 3.23 will be respectable to get out and go and also be more highway friendly

Ah, got it.

3.23 works well with thoughtfully-selected tires. I really like the combination of 3.23 rear axle, automatic transmission, 225 engine, and P205/70R14 tires.

Mine will cruise all day long @ 80 going to Florida and bac with that combo.

Sorry I had a 3 speed manual, in that mix. 18.2 to 22.2mpg @ 80-82 93 octane. 198 with M-1 and either a 2280 318 Holley, or 318 BBD 73ish.
