Car Model:
Recently developed a miss...I could feel it coming on for the past couple of weeks and thought it was just the carb out of adjustment or maybe the intake/exhaust gasket. Remember a month or so ago I did a compression test and got great readings?

1. 147
2. 163
3. 170
4. 175
5. 145
6. 160

Well, I intalled the intake/exhaust gasket and still had a miss. I pulled wires...number 5 had very little effect when pulled. Broke out the compression tester and tested that one cylinder and got 65 lbs. Nice. Wet test got me 75. This was with an engine that was only running for maybe 5 minutes/air cleaner on (hey, it was getting dark). So with not much change from dry to wet, could it be a valve, or a collapsed lifter (this is a hydraulic lifter engine)? Car will still run easily up to 70 (did just yesterday on the way to work) and it has that classic pfft pfft pfft out of the exhaust....

About ready to buy stock in an explosives company... :(
