Hey all,

Well i've been buisy this weekend, I've been messing with a Carter BBD that a fellow bought off of me, He wanted it setup for performace so i did, heres a link to the fancy on it :)

http://www.slantsix.com/UBB/Forum16/HTML/006094.html

Check it out and lemme know wat you think, i have pics of it for you all to check out but i have to get them developed yet!

I have ported this carb to the max and polished it so its like glass! and it made one heck of a difference, as well as bigger jets and wild settings

And when you were done it was still just a BBD that's way over jetted.

LOL, yeah its still just a BBD, the jets however seemed to be "just right" for a slant, i always though that the jets were too small even for a slant!

While I admire your efforts, wouldn't it have been easier to just raise the metering rods a little?

Reed,

I had the rods up as much as i could put them, but i didnt like the idea of it (i had a set pop out one time  ) and for the $4 per set of jets, i figured why not do some experimenting.

I figure it was definatly worth the trouble put into it and i'm sure the new owner of the "special" order BBD will be pleased too :D

I am about to get the Super Six off a '78 Volare. Should I stick with the Carter BBD it has, or look for Holley? :?

What are you looking for form your car? A Carter BBD will give you more performance, but a Holley 2280 will give you slightly less performance and slightly more MPGs than a BBD.
