What means "service"? It's working well and not leaking, and you just want to do routine maintenance on it? It's got leaks, it's got shifting problems? What's the fluid look/smell like?

it does leak enough to were i would have to fill it up about a quart or so. the shifts from park to drive or reverse to drive feel as if they could be described as "hard". (not too good at describing it all) but yes general maintenance would probably be a good start. i havent tried smelling the trans fluid yet. also during the hot weather in summer i would have to check atleast weekly because it went through alot more in the heat. in the winter it didnt seem to as much. not sure why

Last summer i did my first 904 rebuild. Just follow the service manual that is posted as a sticky in this forum step by step. If you are patient it isn't that difficult.

I used a ATP master rebuild kit and new bands. It shifts a lt better now
