For the couple of folks who PMed me in the last few days about 5 speed swaps:
http://www.slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic ... custom+100

You will have to read and dig to get all the info. This is an old swap (9 years?)

There are other stronger/more modern ways to do this.

The advantage is no floor cutting.

I dont have any information or pictures not contained in this post.

I dont have the time to walk you through your swap.

Oh man! The recession is hitting hard, I thought your tech support number said that you'd walk customer's through the procedure if they paid a bottle a minute in Red Ale....?!?!

You know how it goes......

You do a swap in a week a decade ago.....with what was at hand.....for no money.....because your choices were limited.

You get 2 PMs in a day wanting detail and pictures. If I had pictures I would never be able to find them. Detail......detail.....that was smoked over long ago. It would take me just as long the 2nd time.

My current gig is disc brakes on 14 bolt GMs (2 sets)....and a spool

...... /7

My favourite question is "where did you find all the parts?"

Actually BOTH slants get a Supra head....450" V12.....aluminum block of course.... epoxied together with tile cement. Ill use a stock cast crank and DeSoto rods ....anybody make pistons for this?

Im worried I may have to buy shorter pushrods....

anybody done this? Is there a kit?

I think the K-1 rods will work. They already have the bearing slots on the right side for the Desoto bearings.

Make sure to use gray tile cement so it looks prettier. :D

Just cut the pushtubes with a hacksaw and JB Weld them back together. I did that to the ones in my good motor and have never had an issue.
