i ahve inherited an all original car and the entire motor is orange hope that helps

i'm not sure of the darts as mine had a "rebuilt" motor in it when i got it, but both of my '63 valiants had original motors in them and they were both red. i also have a magazine ad announcing the '63 valiants and there is a pic of the motor and it is red as well. now that i think about it, the guy who sold me my '63 dart said the motor was supposed to be red too.

My 63 Vlaint engine is Red

My 65 Dart has the orange color engine. I think I read somewhere before that the early sixes were orange It's not Hemi orange though. I think I may just paint in MOPAR red if I can't match the color.

Agree that the red is correct as have engine photos of my 63Gt taken by the orginal owner when he purchased the car in early 1964, aside currently have incorrect blue head aslo, but with the added touch of black wrinkle finish valvecover-neither of which is correct. Unsure which years slants received blue paint as it seemed to popular around the late 60s. Go with the red.
