I almost know something. I left after I was eliminated as I had to drive back home this evening (Thanks, Mike Jeffrey! :))

At that time, it was Steve Magnante Vs. Romeo (sorry, didn't get last name, driving a 4-door Dart) still in it. Doc was out, Jeffery lost to Magnante, the alky station wagon redlighted, and the Tucson Valiant also had lost to Magnante.

I don't know who took the final... I'm sure Doc will post it when he gets in. There were 7 slants there total.

Thanks for the up-date Gunpilot, it was great to meet you at Las Vegas Speedway!
We met a bunch of great SL6 people there, lots of activity in the pits all weekend.

As noted, 7 SL6 cars made the call for the first round.
I local racer named Romeo F??, running a 16 second 67 Dart 4 Door ended-up winning the final against HRM's Steve Magnante and his 62 Alm. Block Hyper-Pak powered Valiant.

I ran Romeo in the semi finals and he "treed" the crap out of me with a .506 reaction time, I caught him at the finish line but broke-out big with a 12. 96 on a 13.09 dial-in.

I need to talk to Mike Jeffrey about his run against Steve Magnante, Mike cut a great light and had Steve covered but backed out of it at the finish-line and Steve drove by him for the win. Mike and Blaine were having bad luck all weekend so this was salt in the cuts and scrapes they already had.

Anyway, I have a bunch of pics I will try to get downloaded tonight.
There are lots of fun storys to tell about this great weekend so more later.

Jalene and I had a great time. Thanks to Doc and his wisdom, my car picked up over a second and 6 MPH from the time I got there to my best run. Thanks for being patient with my bone-head questions, Doug.

Mike was a great gentleman when I went over to shake his hand after he beat me in the first round. He was the same gentleman when I went to chat with him after he lost to Magnante.

Bad luck or no, his talent is evident. I put our timeslips in Exel today and his 'package' was .079 to my .203 in our race. Somebody got taken to the cleaners, and it wasn't him.

Jalene commented on what a great group the Slanters were and I'm in complete agreement.

I just wish the rest of the races were a bit closer to us.

Hey George, no problem on the "free advice", you are the one that did all the work.
Fact is that I had to smile when after we talked about opening-up the exhaust on you car, you borrowed a hacksaw and cut-out all the pipes....Varooommmbaaaa  (I just had to snap a pic of that. )

Yep, we need to get some more slant action going out West.
Take care of that great family of yours.

Great pics Doug,
You tell Steve that we expect to see that HR slant 6 at a show back east!! Looks great. The green wagon is really neat. Any idea what that car weighed?

Also what was some ET's. I think I saw a low 15 sec dial-in on Steve and a 16 sec dial in on Romeo but what about you and Mike??

Mike was dialed at 12.8 and 12.77. Doug was dialed at 13.09 I believe.

Hey, it just clicked. Romeo Furio. He's the guy that has that fuel-injected Duster that was all over the magazines a while back. That orange one with the stroker small block.

Tom, I have all the computer data, ladder and run times. I just need time to scan and up-load it all so stay tuned for that.

As for the gear drive, the set I saw and took a pic of was for the Auzzy "Hemi Six" (265 cube).
The JP performance rep said that they have one for the Slant so we will need to get one in our hands and check it for fit and function.
