I have a 1996 LHS with 3.5 that I am wrecking. I am building another slant six for my 63 valiant (canadian) and am studying your forums and other sites to add efi. Has anyone tried using parts from the 3.5 engine?

You might be able to use a throttle body or fuel pump. The injectors are odd and the computer would be pretty hopeless.

I don't think the injectors in that fit standard injector bungs, but a determined machinist could make them work. The coils are pretty popular for distributorless ignition setups, too. I would not try swapping the computer over though.

thanks for the replies. Why would the computer not be able to be used?
I am a liscenced mechanic and worked for 15 years before I changed to being a machinist for the last 25 years, so have not had a lot to do with the fuel injection since 1975 with Volvo. The other alternative I was thinking about was the 1991 bonneville with the 3.8. Again thanks

The factory computer needs a number of inputs you would not easily replicate with the slant. Cam position being one of them. The computer is not something you can easily reprogram. You're better off researching and using Megasquirt.

You would need to have a way to reprogram the ECU to match the slant six's air flow characteristics. I am not aware of any tuning tools for the LH cars' ECUs. Also you would have to find a way to graft the cam and crank triggers on in the exact same orientation they were on the LH car.
