I believe 62's use the same springs as 64-up. Maybe someone else can confirm this...

I'll be waiting with baited breath =)

I know there are 62 drivers out there that must have replaced their springs... The ones on our 62 were nearly flat as a pancake when we bought the car in late 2001, it was something we never got around to replacing. I'd like to get some new leafs going when I get the car back, hopefully this month.

Nerdlinger,I just installed ESPO 5 leaf springs on my 60 Valiant which is the same as your 62 and also the same as 64 up as far as spring length goes.As stated earlier in the thread the front bolt size may be different but that is an easy fix either way you go.ESPO actually asked if I was using the stock front eye bolt and I told them yes but now I wish that I had speced the later larger bolt .

Ok, so I gather if I call ESPO and ask about 62' springs they will know what to give me... do you recall the price of the pair of springs less shipping? And do you know if there's much of a price difference between 4 and 5 leaves? I've read in the thread 4 leaves are fine; I don't plan on loading up my trunk really, but I also don't mind if I get a little rear end up stance... especially if they will eventually settle down a little bit. Though I could see going for the 4 leaves especially if it saves me a few bucks.

Also, as far as I know everything related to the rear springs in my car could be factory original 62 stuff, so what other parts might I positively want to replace?

Just called ESPO today. These prices are for my '76, but should give you an idea. $165/pair for 5 leaf, and $225/pair for 6 leaf. They come with only a front rubber bushing preinstalled. Don't quote me on this part, but poly front bushings are $12?/pair, rears are $25ish/pair, or $65 for complete shackles.

The 6 leafs don't sit any higher than the 5s, just are stiffer and can handle a heavier load.
Hope that helps.
