 OK! Here we go. My brother is picking up the Parts for a Fuel Injection conversion this morning. We're going the 3.8 Batch FI Route.
So far, we have two undefined parts to deal with.

1. We haven't identified which manifold we are going to use. I really don't want to spend a gob of cash, and would prefer to stay with the cast-iron stocker. We've got a 1975 1bbl intake. With lots of care, can this manifold use the epoxy method with injector bungs?

2. I don't know what cam would best meet my needs. I'd like to maintain a solid street drivable condition, with some performance improvement. I think the stock set-up in my 74 Valiant is rated somewhere between 90 and 100 HP. Moving the power up in the midrange would be my pref. Should I stay with the stock cam, or upgrade? Truck cam?

Lots O' variables... This car is a 4 door with a 904, 70k miles. I'm hoping to increase the rear end ratio for fuel economy. Don't know what the ratio of the existing axle is.

Looking forward to reading your comments,

CJ

You can jack up one side of the axle and count the rotations of the driveline while spinning the tire to see what you have. The most common ratio for an A904 slant is 2.76:1. Going to a 2.45 isn't going to help fuel economy and would make your car more doggy than it already is, 2.94 is a better economy ratio, 3.23 makes a better street ratio, but at some point your build-up will start being 'fun' and not being 'economical'.

sounds like a fun project,
