Just had an urgent request for info from Johnny Spiva over at polybushings.com (who is developing the polyurethane spool inserts for the 6-cylinder '73-up engine mounts): What is the shank diameter of the thru-bolt on these mounts? He needs it to size the inner sleeve correctly, and sooner = better since he's in the middle of this project right this minute. Anyone got a couple minutes and spare parts to go measure?

Thanks!

1/2" nominal. The first one I put my hand on measured .496"

Jeez...I have a few pairs of old spool mounts laying around, if I knew someone was working on some poly inserts, I'd have offered to send a set to them to further the effort!

Good to know we might have better mounts for the late crowd.

thanks, Dan!

Please do, for fitment testing! Address @ www.polybushings.com , toss in a note saying they're '73+ Chrysler 6-cylinder spool-type mounts for poly spool fit verification. Some thru-bolts'd be great if you have some spares...

He's in Coos Bay....Too bad I don't have the WTP projects in that area or I could go for a 'project site inspection', and just drop some off to him....
(I should trade my two in NW Oregon to the Sr. Project Manager for the one in Coos Bay, Reedsport, etc...)

I'll get these hustled up, he's so close it won't take too long for them to get there...

Please keep us informed I just went crazy trying to find complete replacement motor mounts and put them in this week. I found Anchor brand parts that look like poor Chineese quality but they were the only game in town. I tried using an insert but the replacement inserts were not even close to fitting in the original bracket, im wondering if there were manufacturing differences with the OEM part suppliers?

I just ransacked my pile, and sure enough I had one OEM worn out set of spool mounts with the bolts and nuts in them. Will be sending to Johnny tomorrow and he'll be good to go for some R&D.

FYI,
