I know how to adjust the kickdown, but when that didn't work, I used the "magic fix" lincparts showed me. That worked great, but now My new trans won't adjust right at all. When I push the throttle all the way down, I can still push the kickdown rod down about another inch or so. Is there some way I can fix this? The kickdown rod is already adjusted as far down as it will go.

Sounds like the kickdown lever (attached to the kickdown shaft, on the transmission itself) is longer on the new trans than on the old trans. If so, swap the shorter lever onto the new trans and you'll get your adjustment back.

Can I do this without dropping the trans again?
