This a look at the custom fabercation electrical panel that I mounted under the dash of my 56 Dodge truck. I have recently installed an American Auto Wire harness in my Hot Rod and I wanted to share some pics.

Whoa, that looks really boss!
I feel the above jargon is appropiate, it is a '56 truck/rod. 8)
I really like it. I have wondered if there are any potential issues with mounting the ECU inside under the dash, it would help keep the engine bay looking clean.
I would think that the ECU and other components would stay cooler under the dash, which I believe is a good thing.

I forgot to ask, is it mounted under the driver's side, or the passenger side? Just curious.

I do not for see any problems with mounting under the dash Hot rodders have been doing it for years to clean up the engine bay. I mounted everything under the passengers side dash because of the room that was available after removing the heater it worked out great! check out some more pics on the gallery section of this site. have a great day and thanks for the interest. Looks great! I have a '48 Ferd F-1 that I will be starting soon. I've seen a local guy at car shows selling those wiring kits. Where did you get yours?

I like the under dash idea. I might have to do that and completely redo all my underdash wiring. Not a bad idea relocating the voltage regulator too. I like it I like it.....

Is that a Painless fusebox you're using? I'd like to find one that has spots for two relays that have power output on something like four fused circuits each.

Yes it is an American auto wire fuse box they have several options in kits depending on what you are looking for. I Moved everything from the engine bay to under the dash to clean up the engine bay (starter solenoid, voltage regulator, ballast resistor , ecu) the panel I made removes with two nuts and alows for easy access to the componets without crawling under the dash. you can sit on the passenger side floor and work on the panel with ease.

yeah, i would imagine that keeping that stuff cooler would be a good thing. it looks good and easy to work on, the ground studs on the top are nice too.

Hey, no problem. As I said, there is a guy making all the local car shows selling that same kit for $450. I'll check with them to see what it really costs. He sure talks it up to be a fantastic product - likes it much better than Painless (he also sells their stuff).
