Does anyone else ever experience the emotion of when you plan to do a project for your car, but when you plan to have the available cash flow, it someone doesnt work out????? Long story short, have to delay header installation due to my paycheck being smaller than i thought due to me ordering some stuff for work, and having it deducted, thus me forgetting that i get $70 bucks taken from check, making me wait another two weeks.... Comment or whatever, i just had to vent  :x  :x :x

Don't worry, your par for the course. :)
Its just another effect of slantsixitis..other symptoms include hiding parts from significant others, prioritizing your life around your car.
In its advanced stages some reports have been associated with skipping out of work.
Just be careful as most healthcare providers do not cover this.
Get well soon.

My 84 Ford van has been off the road since 2006 awaiting an interior and exterior cosmetic overhaul. My 89 Ford van (purchased to replace the 84 as a daily driver) has had an oil leak and other engine problems that I have lived with for about two years now. Now my 84 5th ave (purchased to replace the 89 Ford van) has an oil leak and other engine troubles that I have been meaning to get to for the last couple weeks. The radiator fan in my sister's 03 PT Cruiser died last summer so I did a "quick fix" using a DeRale universal fit electric fan and zip ties. I have the replacement correct fan but I haven't had time to put it in. The dash lights in my other sister's 90 Riviera haven't worked for several years. I need to track down the problem. All my cars need a good inside and outside clean, as well as basic tune-ups and oil changes. To top it off, my garage is currently occupied by my brother's long-term 74 Duster project car.

So, yeah, I know the feeling of tyring to plan to get some car work done and then not being able to do it.... :?

WooHoo!! Got my head back from the machine shop today, that is the good news. Now the bad, I have to wait for a dry 60 degree day to paint the damn block, the last step in my engine compartment freshening project before I can reassemble all the newly painted bits.

Mother nature ain't helping much this spring here in Maine, she is stuck on damp, dank, & 40 degrees... Might, just maybe... Oh I hope so... have a limited painting window in the next two days If one can believe the weather man...

I always feel like I'm behind. I still haven't gotten the heater box for my Duster done yet, and I need to finish that before I can drive it.

This summer was supposed to be that, finish the ignition completely, fix and upgrade the brakes (which will need new wheels to clear the larger front calipers), weld in the subframe connectors, modernize the charging system, wiring fixes, lighting upgrades, and finish collecting parts for the 4-spd conversion and engine swap (new slant, not the big block). Now I wonder if I'll even get past getting the brakes done.

Dang, if I get my student loans paid off in ten years, I will be a happy dude. I have a 30 year plan for my student loans, unless I win the lottery or something.

Charlie you sound like Zilla! I am going to clean my garage as well. Maybe I can find some slant parts! Think I will listen to some Rush tunes while I'm a cleanin'.

I have a 5 lb garage, with more then 10 lbs of "stuff". Speaking of Zilla, where do you think I got some of the stuff? He didn't have room for it, so he palmed it off on me

Actually, I really need to do inventory, and see what all I have. I know I have at least 6-7 sets of new pistons, on the shelf. I should probably sell some parts to get money for maching work, and assemble a couple more motors.
