Take a look at the engine shot of this '68 Valiant (post-fire) and let's have some guesses as to what the fuel filter was made of.

Looks like it's got a new steering box.

Just for the sake of saying it, I vote plastic!

It does look like a new steering box though...

Oh Dan, this is just like those old 16mm death & carnage driver's ed movies. Some will, some won't, heed the warning....

Now, seeing this happened in America, land of the 2 million dollar spilled Mickey Dee's coffee....

And, a 100 bucks in parts to fix this burned out hunk of iron???? Where is this guy's parts supplier, I want in.

Now, what caused the fire?

Seller says, "split in fuel line to pump". Maybe. What caused that?

Anyone have the number to CSI?

Could it have been glass too? I vote plastic or glass. After the stories I have heard and the pics that I have seen, I will never run anything but metal. I bet that fire in that valiant made the occupant(s) crap their pants!

Why do you think the fabric on the driver's seat is missing?

Engine fires are scary. When those front tires blow it's a diaper loader for sure.

While the engine is out of the Dart I am pulling the factory line and the glass see through POS that for some reason the parts stores still sell!

I have the FI line and a metal filter for the super six conversion.
