Greetings all,
I am the proud owner of a 1962 Valiant and require some advice.
She was imported from Australia and as such arrived without a heater installed.
So I am aiming to install an alternative (perhaps from a Mini) and I am not 100% sure where to tap into. I have spied on the water pump housing and seen a blanked off outlet.
Perhaps I can feed this via the matrix back to the bottom of the radiator?
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks
Ryan

Thanks Danny,

Yes it all seems to be there just like you explained.
Do you know what size fitting that is?

Ryan

Thanks for the comments...
There is one outlet on the water pump that is capped off (The other outlet of equal size is plumbed to the bottom of the head). This looks to be on the discharge side of the pump. If I were to use this as the feed to the matrix, then return to where? Somewhere on the suction side, perhaps the bottom of the radiator?

Dan’s only correcting me because I mistakenly assumed that the temperature sender tap was the same size as the heater hose tap and was interchangeable. And, I mistakenly assumed that the water pump would be different on a car built with no heater. I don’t *think* he meant that our final conclusion was wrong.

My truck heater is plumbed into the plug that you already found in the head, just to the left of the temperature sender. The second hose goes to the plugged port on your water pump.
