car runs great but as soon as it shifts int 3rd gear i have very little power. if i pin it, my speed will very slowly increase, but the rpms barely go up and it bogs down and sounds like its chugging like a train.


any ideas?

It's probably going into lock up mode.. Adjust the kickdown linkage back towards the tranny maybbe 1/2" at a time then when you "pin it" it will go back to 2nd gear.

Are you getting distributor advance... or may-be too much advance?
Check the total advance at WOT, it should be at 30 degrees by 2800 RPMs
